Across the globe most, if not all cultures have some form of tradition on compassion to those who are less fortunate, and in Naples, Italy grew a tradition which has spread across Italy, as well started to spread in other cities across Europe, including parts of Poland. This is a concept in food activism, Specifically in Italy, when started, was called Caffe Sospeso! Which translates to suspended coffee. The idea behind it is, that coffee which in Naples is so woven in to the culture and daily life that it is considered to be a necessity, and in order to help working class Italians who could not afford the routine of drinking daily coffee, Naples cafes developed a system where customers who just had a financial success, or who were generally more well off than most, could purchase multiple cups of coffee, drink the ones they intend to drink and suspend the others for some one else to drink, all drinks being paid for, yet not all drunk at the same time, or by the same person.

Our Pane Sospeso program, is the Blue Ox Bakeries developed take on the same Italian tradition of, Caffe Sospeso, yet each item is on a month to month bases, including four weeks worth of deliveries.
